SurabiTrust is a non-governmental and philanthropic organization located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu rendering many services to the under privileged sections of society. The organization was founded by a group of like-minded friends in 2008, registering under the Trust Act with the ultimate aim of serving society. The objectives of Surabi Trust is to reach, help, support and advance the interests of the oppressed and down-trodden, especially in matters of health and education.
Breakfast snack is prepared in a hygienic process at our center, with the pulse ingredient powder, we are also mixing jaggery, fried gram and dry coconut to taste that is served at the time of breakfast on every alternate day to each child. The other days, the children are served with any Pulse roast or boiled, and one day any fruit. This feeds them in the morning for all the five days of the week, and that helps the children to concentrate in academics and supplements their breakfast. Surabi staff visits every day to each school in the morning hours and distribute the snack daily. We prepare the snack one day prior to distribution. Pulse mix is prepared on the day of distribution. We are also maintaining an inventory for the distribution and regularly monitoring the consumption of food with the support of school teachers and parents. The feedback is excellent that children are having it regularly it also creating an impact on school attendance. The general health condition of the children is intact and the growth of the child is monitored and recorded at regular intervals. The food is absolutely helping these children to feed their hunger by supplement breakfast.
This BALAMITRA Nutrition Breakfast Supplement program helps children to overcome their morning hunger that helps them to concentrate on their studies. The indirect impacts are that improves the general health of the child intact, this nutrition helps to improve their growth and weight. This is also helping to decrease the absenteeism in schools.
