Childhood Cancer treatment
In India cancer is the 9th common cause of death among children between 5 to 14 years of age. With adequate treatment, 70-90% of childhood cancer is curable because of better response to the treatment and protocols. However, advances in medicine and treatment rarely reach children from marginalized communities.
Give access to treatment to children from marginalized communities suffering from cancer.
We partnered with a blood bank and a research Centre to ensure children from marginalized communities can have access to high quality health care. Children suffering from blood cancer and thalassemia can now access matching stem cells from donated umbilical cords.
A palliative ward is also set up at a government run hospital to cater to children with leukemia.
5,000 children have access to Cancer treatment.
